I recently experienced something unheard of in E46-dom: a failed window regulator. Shocking, I know. You may now retrieve your monocles from the floor. After opening the door up to perform surgery, what I didn’t find was more shocking than what I did.

Wow, thanks so much! I have been putting this off for nearly a DECADE! Mine isn’t completely broken or anything, but on hot days the window doesn’t stay dropped however much it should to clear the door frame when you close it. So the window will stay bent open a smidge.
I have a series of grunts and quick door handle pulls that I do that will usually get the window into the correct position, but it needs to be replaced.

This gave me flashbacks to when I had to fix my own messed up door handles and window regulator on my Torrent.
Take heart, it’s really not that bad once you get all the necessary tools.
Full of the sound of the Gran Fury, signifying nothing.

Having spent a fortune to replace the rarely- used rear regulators on the E34 I've learned to periodically exercise the non-used windows to keep them for atrophying.
